Product Description
In 2002, Miguel Gil co-founded one of the most ambitious quality wine projects in southern Spain, El Nido. With Australian winemaker Chris Ringland, Miguel established a tiny winery next to Juan Gil to produce just 2,000 cases from the best low yielding plots in the area. Two award-laden and immaculately-crafted wines, Clio and El Nido, are made from 44 hectares of 65 year old Monastrell and 30 year old Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark cherry red with intense notes of ripe cassis fruit, toasted coffee and liquorice - extremely powerful and concentrated on the nose. These notes follow through onto the palate with savoury characters, spicy rich fruit flavours, smokey oak and firm tannins - but overall elegance.
