Vallemayor Vina Cerradilla 2001

A great and complex wine from Vallemayor's prize estate of 60 year old vines. Elaborated in only the best vintages and selected from a very limited harvest, Cerradilla is composed of  90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo grapes with  a long ageing of 20 months in new French oak.

A small parcel of this outstanding older vintage, direct from the winery. This wine shows extremely well with complex tertiary notes (Tobacco, Forrest floor, mushroom ) but still maintaining a lovely balance of fruit. Palate is also very well balanced with the acidity still prominent and a well integrated tannin structure.

As to be expected with an older wine there is some sediment build up present in the bottles we sampled, we would recommend leaving this wine up right for a couple of hours and then decanting before serving.
